LAGOS POLICE COMMAND MOURNS DCP KHAN SALIHU, HAILS HIS LEGACY OF DEDICATED SERVICE


The Lagos State Police Command has been thrown into mourning following the death of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Khan Salihu, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration, who passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026.


The sad development has left officers and men of the Command in deep grief as they come to terms with the loss of a distinguished officer whose career was defined by professionalism, discipline, and unwavering commitment to the ideals of the Nigeria Police Force.


In a statement issued by the Command, the late DCP Salihu was described as an exemplary officer who served with exceptional integrity, loyalty, and dedication throughout his years in service. His remarkable leadership qualities and administrative expertise were said to have played a pivotal role in strengthening the operational efficiency and management structure of the Lagos State Police Command.


The Command noted that DCP Salihu's demise came as a profound shock, particularly to colleagues and subordinates who knew him as a humble, approachable, and highly respected leader whose contributions to policing and public service were immeasurable.


Reacting to the loss, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, on behalf of the entire officers and personnel of the Command, extended heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and associates of the deceased officer.


The Commissioner prayed for Almighty God to grant the bereaved family the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss and to grant the departed senior officer eternal rest.


The Lagos State Police Command further affirmed that DCP Khan Salihu's enduring legacy of dedication, professionalism, and selfless service to the nation would continue to inspire both serving officers and future generations within the Nigeria Police Force.


As tributes continue to pour in, the late DCP Khan Salihu will be remembered not only as a committed police administrator but also as a gentleman whose life and service left an indelible mark on the Lagos State Police Command and the nation at large.
