NUJ Lagos Correspondents’ Chapel Honours Princess Aladegoroye for Excellence in Journalism and her contribution towards the chapel
Princess Aladegoroye, the Executive Director of Nubia Africa Media has been honoured by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council, Correspondents’ Chapel, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to journalism, media development, humanitarian service, and cultural promotion.
The prestigious recognition was presented during the grand finale of the 2026 NUJ Correspondents’ Chapel Press Week held at the NERDC Conference Centre, Ikeja, Lagos. The event formed part of activities marking the annual Press Week celebration themed “Journalism and Nation Building: Promoting Accountability and Good Governance.”
The award acknowledged Princess Aladegoroye's remarkable achievements in the media industry and her unwavering commitment to using journalism as a tool for social development, cultural preservation, and humanitarian intervention.
Widely respected for her professionalism, integrity, and dedication to excellence, Princess Aladegoroye has built an enviable reputation as an accomplished broadcaster, media entrepreneur, Lifestyle Coach, Public Relations Consultant, and Human Resources Consultant. Through Nubia Africa Media, she has consistently championed developmental journalism, promoted African heritage, and amplified stories that inspire positive change across communities.
Colleagues and admirers describe her as a compassionate leader whose amiable personality, humility, kindness, and commitment to service have made her a role model to many within and outside the media profession. Her positive disposition, infectious smile, and passion for humanity continue to earn her widespread respect and admiration.
Beyond journalism, Princess Aladegoroye is renowned as an International Supermodel, Fashion Icon, and Philanthropist. She is the Founder of the Nubia Heritage Humanitarian Foundation (NUHF), a non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting African culture and heritage, gender advocacy, tourism development, community empowerment, and strengthening ties between Africa and its Diaspora.
Under her visionary leadership, NUHF has successfully implemented several impactful initiatives, including the Homecoming Initiative, designed to reconnect Africans in the Diaspora with their ancestral roots and cultural heritage. She also spearheads the “Feed the People” programme, which provides food assistance and support to vulnerable individuals and communities.
Her humanitarian efforts extend to climate action, environmental sanitation, access to clean water, education for underserved communities, and other sustainable development programmes aimed at improving the quality of life of the less privileged.
As a member of the West Africa Women Association (WAWA) ECOWAS, Princess Aladegoroye continues to advocate regional cooperation, women's empowerment, and sustainable development across West Africa.
The NUJ recognition adds to an impressive list of honours received by the media executive. She is also a recipient of the prestigious United Nations WHOPE Humanitarian Award in recognition of her exceptional dedication to humanitarian service, community development, cultural preservation, and global advocacy.
