NUJ STRENGTHENS MEDIA DIPLOMACY WITH GHANA HIGH COMMISSION IN LAGOS

The visit of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Correspondents' Chapel to the Ghana High Commission was marked by warm diplomatic engagement, cultural exchange, and media collaboration, as members of the union paid a courtesy visit organised by Princess Aladegoroye of Nubia Africa TV.The memorable event, held at the Ghana High Commission in Lagos, brought together media practitioners and diplomatic representatives in an atmosphere of unity and mutual respect. The Chairman of the NUJ delegation, Abraham Apabio, delivered the opening address, where he emphasized the importance of strengthening relationships between the media and diplomatic communities across Africa.
In his remarks, Chairman Apabio commended the Ghana High Commission for its hospitality and reaffirmed the commitment of Nigerian journalists to promoting African unity, cultural understanding, and responsible journalism. He also appreciated the efforts of Princess Aladegoroye for successfully coordinating the visit and fostering collaboration between both institutions.
The delegation was warmly received by the Minister - Counsellor/ Head of Chancery, Mrs. Barbara Entee who expressed delight at hosting the journalists. She highlighted the long-standing relationship between Nigeria and Ghana, noting that both nations continue to enjoy strong cultural, economic, and diplomatic ties.
Mrs. Barbara praised the role of the media in shaping positive narratives across the continent and encouraged continued collaboration between journalists and diplomatic missions in promoting peace, development, and African integration. Other Consulate officials present includes Mr. Anane- Donfeh Michael , Head Consular, Mrs. Doris Asetena -Mensah, Trade and Investment and Mr. Ernest Brobbey , Consular Welfare.
The visit featured interactive discussions, networking sessions, and moments of cultural appreciation, creating an avenue for stronger partnership and understanding between the media and the Ghanaian diplomatic community in Nigeria.
Josuah Uloko, Steve Oma-ofozor, Bose Iyabo Aina, Inemesit Ebu, Princess Aladegoroye, Onome Naomi, Oluwaseun Taiwo, Muyiwa Awoniyi, and Habitat Jaji are present at the occasion.
Participants described the engagement as productive, enlightening, and inspiring, while many commended the organisers for creating a platform that promotes unity among Africans through journalism and diplomacy.
The event ended on a joyful note with photographs, friendly conversations, and renewed commitments toward future collaborations between the NUJ and the Ghana High Commission in Lagos.
