Lawal Africas Inducted as Fellow of Enterprise Risk Management Professionals
Renowned peacebuilding expert and development strategist, Lawal Africas, has been formally inducted as a Fellow of the Association of Enterprise Risk Management Professionals (AERMP), earning the prestigious designation of Fellow of Enterprise Risk Professionals (FERP).
The induction ceremony, held on May 23, marked another significant milestone in the distinguished career of the Niger Delta peacebuilding advocate, whose work over the years has focused on crisis management, stakeholder engagement, security coordination, and sustainable development across Nigeria and Africa.
Dressed in rich Nigerian traditional attire during the induction, Lawal Africas described the honour as more than a personal achievement, noting that it represents a strong connection between African cultural identity, grassroots peacebuilding, and global standards in corporate risk governance.
Speaking after the event, he expressed deep gratitude to colleagues, partners, and supporters who have contributed to his professional journey and the advancement of peacebuilding initiatives in the region.
For more than a decade, Lawal Africas has served as the Peacebuilding Coordinator at PIND Foundation and as the Pioneer Network Coordinator for the Partners for Peace (P4P) Network. In these capacities, he has played a leading role in real-time crisis response, conflict prevention, stakeholder alignment, and threat mitigation across communities in the Niger Delta.
His work has consistently focused on creating systems that strengthen community resilience, improve security coordination, and support sustainable peace and economic development.
The newly conferred Fellowship further strengthens his multidisciplinary professional profile, adding to his existing recognitions as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC), the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC), and OSHA Safety certifications.
According to him, the Fellowship in Enterprise Risk Management enhances his ability to effectively translate field-level security realities, environmental and social governance data, and community-based intelligence into structured institutional risk controls and resilient governance frameworks for organizations and public institutions.
Beyond his role at PIND Foundation, Lawal Africas has also contributed to grassroots economic development initiatives through ISPED, while collaborating with international institutions such as the United Nations Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (UN OSAA) and the Wheeler Institute for Business and Development.
Throughout his professional engagements, his mission has remained consistent: building resilient, secure, and sustainable systems that support peace, economic growth, and institutional stability across Africa.
Lawal Africas reaffirmed his commitment to continuing the work of de-risking communities and operating environments through stronger institutional frameworks, strategic collaboration, and sustainable peacebuilding initiatives.
He noted that the recognition serves as both an honour and a renewed responsibility to deepen efforts toward creating safer communities, stronger institutions, and more sustainable development outcomes for future generations.
Lawal Africas, FERP, FOSHA, FICMC, FIMC, CMC, MPI, currently serves as Peacebuilding Coordinator at PIND Foundation and remains one of the leading voices in community resilience, mediation, and enterprise risk governance in Nigeria and beyond.
