By Princess Aladegoroye September 28,2026 Correspondents’ Chapel Takes Centre Stage at NUJ Lagos Press Week Health Walk The 2026 Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council Press Week came alive with energy, fitness, solidarity and professional camaraderie as members of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Lagos, participated fully and proudly in the Health and Awareness Walk. The Health and Awareness Walk, which officially opened the 2026 NUJ Lagos Press Week on Monday, September 28, was designed to promote healthy living, strengthen unity among journalists and provide an opportunity for media professionals to interact beyond their daily newsroom responsibilities.
The long-distance walk was not merely a physical exercise; it was a powerful demonstration of fitness, unity, friendship and professional solidarity among journalists. Members walked together with enthusiasm, displaying the strength, determination and togetherness that have continued to distinguish the Correspondents’ Chapel. The presence of the chapel added a special touch to the occasion. With their lively disposition, coordinated participation and unmistakable spirit of camaraderie, members of the Correspondents’ Chapel brought colour, glamour and excitement to the Press Week programme.
Beyond the photographs, smiles and energetic moments, the participation underscored an important message: journalists, whose demanding profession often requires long hours and intense mental concentration, must also pay attention to their physical wellbeing. The Correspondents’ Chapel's participation therefore reflected the broader objective of the Press Week Health and Awareness Walk—to encourage journalists to embrace healthy lifestyles while strengthening the bonds that unite practitioners across different media organisations. Members of the Correspondents’ Chapel deserve commendation for their impressive turnout, discipline, enthusiasm and solidarity. As the 2026 NUJ Lagos Press Week continues with other programmes designed to promote professional excellence, networking, knowledge sharing and stronger relationships among media practitioners, the Correspondents’ Chapel has once again shown that it is a unique and commendable part of the NUJ family. The Health Walk may have ended at the NUJ Secretariat, but the spirit of unity, fitness and fellowship displayed by the Correspondents’ Chapel will remain one of the memorable highlights of the opening day of the 2026 NUJ Lagos Press Week.

It was a great time with Chief BAKARE OLUBAMISHE hosting the Diaspora from Brazil at his residence in Lagos, Nigeria. Chief Bakare is an Elder STATEMAN of The All progressive Congress (APC). A chieftain and a strong man in the party.  Chief welcome our diaspora friends  from Brazil to Nigeria in a grand style and hosts them to a beautiful lunch at his residence in Lagos. The Home Coming programme was organised by Princess Aladegoroye, The Founder of Nubia Heritage Humanitarian Foundation,  an NGO in Nigeria which facilitate heritage preservation, trade relations, culture & tourism promotions and international exchange programmes  within Africa and diaspora.
