Agbado-Oke-Odo LCDA, Nubia Heritage Humanitarian Foundation Forge Strategic Partnership on Waste-to-Wealth, Green Energy Project
Brazilian Technical Partners, Join Initiative to Tackle Waste, Pollution and Environmental Challenges

A major step towards building a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable community has been taken as the leadership of Agbado-Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos State, held a strategic meeting with the Nubia Heritage Humanitarian Foundation (NUHF) on the proposed Waste-to-Wealth and Green Energy Project for the community.
The strategic meeting, which brought together the Chairman, members of the Executive Council, officials of the Foundation and technical partners from Brazil, focused on developing practical and sustainable solutions to the growing waste management and environmental challenges confronting the LCDA.
At the meeting, the Foundation presented its vision of transforming waste from an environmental burden into a valuable resource through recycling, waste processing, renewable energy generation and other environmentally sustainable initiatives.
A major highlight of the meeting was the involvement of Natureza Limpa, the Brazilian technical partners supporting the project. Representatives of the Brazilian team joined the strategic meeting contributing their technical perspective and international experience towards the development of a sustainable waste-to-energy solution for Agbado-Oke-Odo.
The proposed collaboration is aimed at reducing indiscriminate waste disposal, tackling environmental pollution, creating economic opportunities and exploring innovative ways of converting waste into useful energy and other resources.

Speaking during the meeting, the Chairman of Agbado-Oke-Odo LCDA, Hon. Jimoh Abiodun Ishola, reaffirmed his administration's commitment to achieving a cleaner, healthier and better-organised community.
The Chairman expressed his readiness to work with the Nubia Heritage Humanitarian Foundation and its international technical partners to turn the Waste-to-Wealth vision into a practical reality.
He stressed the importance of continuous support, cooperation and strategic partnerships, noting that the transformation of the community's waste management system requires collective commitment from government, development organisations, technical experts and residents.
The Chairman's position was clear: the time for sustainable environmental action has come, and it is now.
Nubia Foundation Champions UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals
The Nubia Heritage Humanitarian Foundation team also used the meeting to make a strong statement on the importance of aligning the proposed project with the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Foundation emphasised that the Waste-to-Wealth initiative goes beyond waste collection. It represents a broader commitment to environmental sustainability, renewable and green energy, pollution reduction, improved public health and economic empowerment.
According to the Foundation, the transition towards cleaner energy and the reduction of harmful emissions are essential components of building healthier communities and protecting the environment for future generations.
The Foundation stressed that effective waste management, recycling and green-energy development can help reduce pollution while creating opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship, skills development and wealth creation within the community.
Brazil-Nigeria Technical Collaboration
The participation of Natureza Limpa from Brazil further strengthened the international dimension of the initiative.
The Brazilian technical partners brought their expertise and perspective to the discussion, demonstrating the potential for international cooperation in addressing local environmental challenges.
The partnership is expected to provide technical knowledge and innovative approaches that can support Agbado-Oke-Odo in developing a more efficient and sustainable waste management system while exploring the possibility of converting waste into energy.
The collaboration also represents an opportunity for knowledge transfer between Brazil and Nigeria, particularly in the areas of environmental technology, recycling, renewable energy and sustainable community development.

Representing the Nubia Heritage Humanitarian Foundation were key members of the team championing the green-energy initiative, including Princess Aladegoroye, Executive Director of Nubia Heritage Humanitarian Foundation; Chief Africa's Lawal, Technical Director; and Mr. Onipede Oladapo, Director of Accounts.
The technical partners from Brazil also participated making the meeting an important platform for international technical engagement and collaboration.
From Waste to Wealth
The proposed project is expected to create a new approach to waste management in Agbado-Oke-Odo—one that views waste not simply as refuse to be discarded, but as a potential economic and energy resource.
The Foundation's vision is to promote a cleaner environment while simultaneously creating opportunities for wealth creation, youth participation, skills development and sustainable enterprise.
With the commitment expressed by the LCDA leadership and the technical support being explored through the Brazilian partnership, stakeholders believe the initiative could become a model for sustainable environmental development that can be replicated across other communities.
The strategic meeting therefore marked more than a discussion; it represented the beginning of a collective determination to confront environmental challenges with innovation, partnership and action.
