MABERU AND ALUTA BAND AWAKENING OUR CONSCIOUSNESS

Temitope Maberu-Fagunwa is a conscious passionate Pan- African . He is dedicated to the believe of love for all and humanity. He is a lecturer and a black man who embraces his culture and project the positive image of his people. Maberu & Aluta Band recently performed at the Bogobiri House, located at Maitiama Sule Street, Ikoyi. The musical band has been in existence for four years. The band has described itself as one of the leading Afrobeat bands in the continent. With an agenda aimed at using music as a potent weapon for socio-political and economic change on the African continent and beyond, the band has sustained greatly the rhythmic patterns, roots and message of Afrobeat, as laid down by its creator, Fela Anikulapo Kuti. The lead vocalist of the band is Maberu. Temitope Maberu-Fagunwa is a scholar-activist and musician. He is also the lead tenor saxophonist of the band. Maberu has been on the frontline of using Afrobeat to speak against the continuing injustice and inequality in Nigeria and beyond. The artiste through his songs have also stressed that global Africans must have to free themselves from the shackles of mental slavery and the physical bondage of neo-colonialism and imported religions and norms. The band is scheduled to be playing regularly at Bogobiri House in the coming period.

Olokun is a spirit or deity,the Yoruba religion is a nature-based tradition that believes in one singular source called OLORUN or OLODUNMARE. It was allergedly reported that at the ikorodu general hospital,Lagos , a mother gave birth to a twins which were later discovered that they had jurndis. They were later taken back to the hospital for treatment and kept in the blue wave room, but unfortunately the were burnt and their lives lost.The new mother cried her heart out with their family for justice.
