THE ISLAND CLUB ANNUAL LENTEN TALK.

The Island Club Annual Lenten Talk, Choral Renditions,and Breaking of Fast took place at the Club premises on  Thursday,22nd of March 2018. This Annual event shows that the Island Club is not just inter-racial,for fellowship and comradeship alone but also for moral and ethics development through religious programmes. The Chairman of the Island Club in person of Mr .Olabanji Oladapo,KCOP was introduced to the public.The chairman of the occassion ,Dr .Oluyemisi .A. Kuforiji gave the welcome address at the event.His Grace Archbishop Dr.Alfred Adewale Martins,Catholic Archbishop of Lagos,gave Lecture, on the Topic 'Christain Living in Nigeria Today Is life Worth Living', He urges the members to emulate Jesus Christ as their standard and help the needy during lent.The Bishop said ,the lenten period should be a time of sobber reflection,submissiveness and doing the will of God.He also commend the members of the Lenten Talk committee,Barr .Dayo Olomo ,KCOP, Hon .Olukayode Ogundipe ,KCOP, Mr. Yemi Adewole , JP, KCOP especially the coordinator of the Lenten Talk programme ,Chief. Siji Olowosuko,JP, KCOP, for organizing the event to the glory of God.The Choral Group-The Touching Lives Choir/Orchestra ministered to the people in songs and all the members were blessed.Goodwill messages from the Muslim Brothers was rendered by Alhaji.Shitta,FCA,KCOP.The Vote of Thanks was giving by The Vice Chairman of Island Club,Prince Lana Adesida.

It was allergedly reported that at the ikorodu general hospital,Lagos , a mother gave birth to a twins which were later discovered that they had jurndis. They were later taken back to the hospital for treatment and kept in the blue wave room, but unfortunately the were burnt and their lives lost.The new mother cried her heart out with their family for justice.
