Princess Aladegoroye Dedicates Prestigious Journalism Award to Her Father and Mentor, Mr. Eyitayo Balogun


Fresh from receiving a prestigious Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to journalism and the media industry during the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council Correspondents' Chapel Press Week,2026, renowned broadcaster, humanitarian, and media executive, Princess Aladegoroye, has dedicated the honour to her father and lifelong mentor, Mr. Eyitayo Balogun, a veteran broadcaster of The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Sports.



Speaking shortly after receiving the Award, Princess Aladegoroye expressed profound gratitude to Mr. Balogun, describing him as the architect of her broadcasting career and the man who laid the solid foundation upon which her success has been built.



According to the Award-winning media personality, every milestone she has attained in broadcasting is a reflection of the invaluable knowledge, discipline, professionalism, and ethics instilled in her by the respected veteran broadcaster.


"My father is my greatest teacher, my mentor, and my inspiration. Everything I know about broadcasting today was first taught to me by him. From voice presentation, news delivery, programme production, professionalism, integrity, and the ethics of journalism, he patiently nurtured me into the media professional I have become. This Award belongs to him as much as it belongs to me," she said.



Mr. Eyitayo Balogun, widely respected in Nigeria's broadcasting industry, enjoyed a distinguished career with NTA Sports, where he became known for his professionalism, excellence, and dedication to quality sports journalism. Throughout his career, he mentored numerous young broadcasters, leaving behind a legacy of excellence that continues to inspire the next generation of media practitioners.


Princess Aladegoroye noted that beyond teaching her the technical aspects of broadcasting, her father instilled in her the virtues of discipline, hard work, humility, credibility, and commitment to public service—qualities that have distinguished her throughout her career.



Today, Princess Aladegoroye has emerged as one of Nigeria's respected media personalities, serving as the Executive Director of Nubia Africa Media and Project Director of the Nubia Heritage Humanitarian Foundation. Through her work in broadcasting, humanitarian service, cultural promotion, tourism advocacy, and community development, she has continued to make significant contributions both within Nigeria and across the African Diaspora.


She dedicated the award to every mentor who has invested time and knowledge in shaping future generations, emphasizing that behind every successful professional is someone who believed in them and guided them to greatness.
